Recently,, some of these events indluded Breakfast With Signing Santa, a Planting Party, cake decorating and afternoon tea, as well as a wine tasting evening hosted with Helen Jones Wines. Thank you to everyone who supported these events.
Auction & Hotpot Night
We are so pleased to announce that our Auction & Hotpot Night on Friday was a huge success, raising £1,800 for Walthew House! All money raised will support people in Stockport with a sight or hearing loss.
Thank you to everyone who made a pre-bid, or bought a ticket and came along on the night, to Lynx Taxis for sponsoring the event, and to our volunteers, we would not be able to run events like this without the hard work from so many volunteers! A special thank you to Mike, our auctioneer for the night.
The highlight of the evening was certainly other bidders chipping in to make sure Josh won the signed Stockport County shirt (pictured below).

Technology User Group
Come and volunteer with us!
Every second Thursday of the month we will be holding our Technology User Group (TUG).
Sighted and signing volunteers will provide bespoke support for people who are blind, visually impaired, hard of hearing or Deaf, to help them make the most of assistive technology. There will also be demonstrations from some product providers.
We are lucky to receive the support each year of many community groups and organisations. In 2019 we have received the support of groups including the Harmony Revival, Great Moor & District WI, Hazel Grove Inner Wheel and Moor Running Friends. If you would like to support us in future then we would be happy to discuss this with you, and to provide any materials that you may need.
Our team regularly do talks across Stockport about the work of our charity, and we would be happy to book a date in to speak to your group or organisation. Please contact Shannon Gorman using the details above if you would like to organise a talk.
We would like to say a HUGE thank you to local running group, Moor Running friends for raising an absolutely fantastic £957.96 for Walthew House!
The group have been raising money through coffee mornings, and have also completed a 5k and a 10k run!
We recently welcomed some members of the group at our Youth Club, as the money raised will be helping to provide some upcoming events and trips for the members of our Youth Club. Including, Breakfast With Signing Santa on Saturday 7th December!
Thank you again to Moor Running Friends for providing vital funds for our charity!
Each year we are delighted to receive the support of businesses from across Stockport, including those who participate in our annual blind bowling tournament and those who have one of our charity collection boxes. We would particularly like to thank Booth Ainsworth, a long term supporter of ours who raise money through regular dress down days and cake sales - over the years they have helped to raise more than £10,000 for us!
There's lots of ways to raise money for Walthew....
