*If you are having trouble being able to vote online, please contact Shannon at Walthew House.
The more votes we receive the more funding we will be awarded from the £10,000 total. We will be awarded a minimum of £200 and a maximum of £1,500 depending on the amount of votes that receive before 1st October! Your vote will make a huge difference.
Due to the impact of COVID-19, all social activities at Walthew House ceased, however, our staff and volunteers have continued to provide a range of support to people in Stockport with a sight or hearing loss during the whole of lockdown. We facilitated 1150 calls and video chats with service users, delivered over 100 care packages, provided 155 counselling and emotional support sessions, reached over 5000 people through online accessible activities and supported 39 people to get online and keep in touch!
Now, we are planning to reopen our centre on 21st September and we couldn’t be more excited! Safety is our number one priority; we are committed to ensuring our building is COVID-secure to protect our service users. Funding awarded will help us to reopen safely by providing PPE, sanitizer, adequate cleaning, protective screens and more!
