Use your experience and skills to help shape the future of a much loved local charity.
Walthew House has supported people in Stockport who are blind, partially sighted, Deaf, hard of hearing, or living with dual sensory loss for almost 150 years. We are seeking new Trustees to join our friendly, committed Board.
We warmly welcome people with lived experience of sensory loss, or of supporting someone with sensory loss, as this insight is central to our charity. Deaf people are currently underrepresented at trustee level, and we are committed to changing this. We therefore strongly encourage applications from Deaf people—including BSL users, lipreaders, and those with diverse Deaf identities—whose experience and perspectives are vital in shaping our strategy and ensuring our services remain inclusive and responsive.
Alongside lived experience, we are especially interested in hearing from people with skills in:
- Human resources
- Fundraising leadership & strategy
- Social investment and innovative income models
If you are passionate about inclusion and want to make a meaningful difference, we would love to hear from you—whatever your professional background.
