Become a Friend of Walthew House

We are extending an invitation to our wider community to become a Friend of Walthew House.

Our charity is funded by donations and local fundraising. Being a Friend costs just £10 a year and is a greatly valued way of supporting services for people with sight or hearing loss across Stockport.

Image shows four adults smiling at the camera, stood on a train station platform. Two of them are holding long white canes.

Your annual membership helps to pay for the running costs of the building, ensuring we can keep Walthew House safe and warm for the 400+ people who access our services here each week.

Benefits to being a Friend include:

  • Discounted rate for training sessions, including introduction to British Sign Language (BSL) and lip-reading.
  • Discounted rate for workshops, such as seasonal craft sessions.
  • Discounted rate for day trips and events.
  • The opportunity to attend and vote at our Annual General Meeting.
  • Monthly ‘What’s New at Walthew’ e-newsletter.
  • An invitation to an annual reception for Friends (new for 2023!)
