  • RNIB Campaigns are continuing to make sure Government communications on COVID-19 are accessible. Please email campaigns@rnib.org.uk if you come across something that is not accessible.
  • Pre-payment energy meters. If you have a pre-payment meter and are self-isolating and struggling to top up, you can be sent 2 weeks’ worth of gas/electric or if you have a smart meter they will top it up for you. Please note this is not free and will be added to your bill.   • British-sign.co.uk are offering a “pay what you can” scheme. They would like to provide the opportunity for you to use this time to learn British Sign Language. Their 20hr CPD (Continuing Professional Development) certified course can be studied at your own pace and is a comprehensive introduction to BSL. They are asking that those who wish to sign up to the course to pay what they feel they are able.   • British Blind Sport are bringing you a week of live, audio described workouts on Zoom! If you are on Facebook their page is ‘BritishBlindSport’ where links in advance to the following workouts will be provided and a BBS staff member will be on hand to answer any questions throughout the workouts:
    • Monday 6th April Boxercise with Able2B – Midday
    • Tuesday 7th April Meditation with Blind Ambition – 5:30pm
    • Wednesday 8th April Dance with Synergy Dance – 5:30pm
    • Thursday 9th April HIIT with Inclusive Fitness Training – 5:30pm
    • Friday 10th April Yoga with Synergy Dance – 5:30pm

  • The UK Lockdown Rules for Daily Exercise Have Been Updated:
    • You can exercise for up to one-hour daily
    • Dog walking is classed as exercise
    • Do not travel to exercise you must stay local
    • Gardens are preferable
    • Stick to the 2-metre rule
    • Do not meet friends
    • Gatherings of more than 2 are strictly banned
    • Wash your hands as soon as you get home
