INFORMATION BULLETIN – COVID-19

  • Walthew House – We are offering a new support service ‘WalkMyWay’ which has been put in place to encourage exercise and maintain positive communication during these isolating times.  If you are a long cane user we are offering one to one guided walks local to your home whilst maintaining a safe distance at all times.  If you think you may be suitable for this, please contact Naomi to discuss further on 0161 480 2612 or mmh@walthewhouse.org.uk and leave your contact details.
  • Walthew House Liverpool Trip – If you have booked on the Liverpool Trip for 21st May, unfortunately this is now CANCELLED.  Please do not worry if you have paid as you will be refunded.  Contact Naomi on 0161 480 2612 / mmh@walthewhouse.org.uk for more details. 
  • Macular Society – Telephone and admin support is currently being provided.  If you have any queries, please contact groups admin on 01264 560259 or call the Advice and Information line on 0300 30 30 111 and they will be happy to help you.
  • Co-op – has launched a Co-op gift card scheme for those self-isolating and reliant on others doing their shopping. Call 0800 029 4592 to purchase a Co-op gift card which you can share with volunteers to pay for your shopping in your local Co-op. https://coop.uk/2KyNV2l 
  • Tesco – are offering priority slots for online delivery for the blind & partially sighted: 0800 917 7359.  After a few questions you’re then registered & 48 hours later, priority slots will appear.
  • HG Beard Butchers – They are offering a delivery service in Bramhall and the surrounding areas for people not able or not wanting to come to their shop. All products sold will be available for delivery, red meat and poultry, pies, cooked meat, eggs, ready meals etc.  To place an order either phone 0161 439 4163 or email hgbeardbramhall@gmail.com They will drop the order at the door and then ring the bell or knock then return to their vehicle to limit contact with people isolating. If you have any specific instructions just let them know.
  • Stockport Council are working to reopen two of Stockport’s Household Waste Recycling Centres.  The operator, Greater Manchester Combined Authority are due to confirm the reopening dates this week.  We will look to update you in next week’s bulletin.
