Soapbox race supports Walthew

Our friends at Nexperia are busy building a soapbox kart to help raise money for our charity!

We are very fortunate that our friends at Team Nexperia (situated on Pepper Road, Hazel Grove) are busy building a soapbox kart to enter into the Totally Stockport Krazy Races, whilst raising money for our charity!

The event takes place in Stockport on Sunday 28th May from 11am, with hand-built cars whizzing round St Peter’s Square into Mersey Square, past The Plaza taking a sharp right toward Stockport’s famous Air Raid Shelters. It is a free family event, and we hope as many people as possible can be there to cheer on our team!

Team Nexperia, comprised of Richard Daley, James Cassidy, Bill Kalantzi, Kelvin Chan and Adrian Mills, are building the kart for entry into the race; they are being supported by Stein Nesbakk and Ian Corcoran. Kelvin Chan will be racing the kart on the day. The team kindly shared some photographs with us, which shows both their progress with the build and that engineering can be fun!

You can sponsor the team by visiting their JustGiving page at www.justgiving.com/page/teamnexperiamanchester All funds raised will help Walthew House to continue to support people across Stockport living with sight or hearing loss.

Thank you to everyone at Nexperia for your continued support of our charity – we can’t wait to see the final soapbox, and we are obviously hoping you win the race too!
