The Walthew House Cup 2023

It’s that time of year again… The Walthew House Cup is back for 2023!

Teams from across Stockport will be testing their bowling skills, whilst raising vital funds to support your local sensory loss charity. To simulate the experience of being visually impaired or blind, team members will be provided with blindfolds or simulation glasses which replicate visual impairments such as glaucoma, cataracts and macular degeneration.

Our very own Walthew House visually impaired team will be there again to show us how it’s done!

The cost per team of four people is just £50 (£12.50 per person), which includes two games of bowling, a goody bag including a cold drink and snack, and personal certificates upon completion. We ask that teams arrive at 10.00am, so we are able register everyone and start the games for 10.30am.

The team with the highest score over the two games will take home the coveted Walthew House Cup – last year’s winners were Lynx Taxis! In memory of the founder of the Walthew House bowling team and previous chair of the charity, the highest individual scorer will be presented with the ‘David Le Poidevin’ Cup.

We are also offering sponsorship opportunities for local businesses if you are unable to make it to the event but would still like to support us.  Sponsorship includes your company logo/details displayed on a bowling lane (£30 per lane) and any leaflets or business cards you’d like to display. If you would like to enter a team, and sponsor your own lane, that is also possible.

All funds raised by the event will help our charity to continue supporting adults and children across Stockport who are living with sight and/or hearing loss. Last year, the event raised a very impressive £1,245 for Walthew House.
