Our latest Annual Accounts highlight another busy and successful year at Walthew House. Over the past 12 months we’ve continued to deliver a wide range of practical, emotional and social support for people in Stockport who are blind, Deaf or living with sight and/or hearing loss. From our information services and Eye2Eye counselling programme, to youth clubs, lunch clubs and advocacy support, every strand of our work has focused on breaking down barriers and helping people stay connected and independent. During 2024–25 our team responded to more than 500 requests for advice and information, delivered 448 one-to-one advocacy sessions, and recorded 2,769 group connections through social and wellbeing activities. We also expanded our deaf and visual awareness training, grew our BSL teaching provision and strengthened partnerships with local organisations.
